Vertical Platform Lifts at SUPERIOR Home Health Care

Like a small elevator, a vertical platform lift (VPL) gives vertical access to people using scooters or wheelchairs. A residential VPL is commonly used to provide access between the ground level and a porch or deck, and are considered a space-efficient solution in comparison to a modular or permanent ramp.

By code in most regions, ramps need one foot of length for every one inch of rise. For example, a 12” rise would require a 12-ft ramp, or a 24” rise would require a 24-ft ramp. The long “runway” ramp system can be both unsightly and expensive – the smaller footprint ensures the focus stays on your home and its curb appeal. VPLs are also considerably more cost-efficient than a residential elevator.

Know VPLs are safer and MUCH easier to use than ramps. As they are electronically-operated, they require almost no effort to use.

BRUNO residential Vertical Platform Lifts (VPL) feature a 750lb lift capacity and are available in heights up to 14 feet. Every VPL includes the core components of a tower, a platform and a landing gate to protect the top landing. Simply roll your mobility device onto the platform, press the button, and the VPL will glide you up or down. As the lift travels up, the ramp automatically folds to create a barrier. An optional gate that closes once you are on the platform, is recommended to give a secondary level of safety.

BRUNO Vertical Platform Lifts, sometimes called porch lifts, are available for indoor or outdoor locations.
