Carbon folding wheelchair for children

ENHANCED AUTONOMY FOR BIG SMILES

The HELIO Kids wheelchair by Motion Composites was designed to keep up with the active lives of children. That’s why we chose a carbon fiber design that is incredibly light and improves your everyday mobility while being exceptionally strong.

LIGHTWEIGHT FOR GREATER FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT

HELIO KIDS is one of the lightest folding manual wheelchairs for kids on the market. We use high-performance carbon fiber for peak lightness and strength. From the flip-back footrests to the forged aluminum axle plates, each component and accessory was chosen with weight reduction in mind.

A CHAIR THAT GROWS WITH YOUR CHILD

Kids grow fast and HELIO Kids is designed to grow right along with them. It only takes a few seconds to increase the seat depth by up to 3 inches (7.6 cm) in infinite increments for greater precision. The footplate height

A highly agile wheelchair is an undeniable plus, especially for kids. We only included what was essential for even more efficient propulsion. The molded cross brace, oval tubing and pivot axles work together while the unique folding system maximizes the frame’s stability, saving your child energy on a daily basis.

Independence through exploration

MAXIMIZE EARLY LEARNING

The Explorer Mini is a regulatory cleared powered mobility solution that facilitates self-initiated movement and early exploration for young children 12 – 36 months of age with mobility impairments. Designed to support development, the Explorer Mini is an ergonomic device with multiple weight bearing surfaces to help promote safe, stable upright postures while providing opportunities to improve strength, endurance and postural control.

DEVELOPMENTALLY INSPIRED SEATING

Intuitive design featuring integrated table and backrest is supportive and allows freedom of movement. While the adjustable saddle seat supports hip development and facilitates functional sitting, or can be removed for incremental standing activities.

The Explorer Mini is a lightweight, easy to transport power mobility device that supports development and encourages self-initiated exploration. At a fraction of the weight of a typical power wheelchair, families can take the Explorer Mini wherever they go allowing their child with mobility impairments the opportunity to explore and learn in home and community environments.

SUPPORTING ON-TIME DEVELOPMENT

Midline proportional joystick with bright yellow ball handle helps promote visual development, reaching, grasp and release, and use of bilateral upper extremities. It also provides multiple sensory input experiences for the very young child with mobility impairments.

Crocodile aims for harmony, balance and rhythm. Placed behind the child, the frame allows freedom of movement and facilitates walking in the upright position. The adjustable handles can be individually adapted to a position conveniently close to the child’s body providing maximum support and stability.

The Crocodile is light, easy to dismantle and safe and easy to use. A large group of children can use the Crocodile as a basic posterior gait trainer for the child who needs minimal support, or as a fully supported upright gait trainer with all of the accessories added.

The Crocodile is available in three sizes and suitable for children and young people.

The Mustang provides excellent upper body support and adjustable angle positioning for forward tilt in the anterior configuration and full upright support in the posterior configuration. A variety of positioning accessories are available for children who need extra support, and are removable as their walking skills progress. The center spar is dynamic and helps mimic the natural up and down movement in walking.

The Mustang is an excellent choice for children with Cerebral Palsy and other developmental delays. It offers flexibility, growth and ease of use while children are learning to walk and adapting to their changing needs.

The Mustang comes in four sizes suitable for children and young people.

Healthier for children. Simpler for you.

Time and again, research has shown the necessity of good toileting for children’s health. So we designed the HTS with that in mind. Hygienic, simple and affordable, the HTS promotes the positioning that is ideal and natural for effective toileting. Meanwhile its versatility and simplicity – usable on, over and off the toilet, no tools required – make the lives of caregivers better too.

Benefits

  • The unique design of the optional seat pad opening – open to the rear for larger clients – facilitates clear access for cleaning and hygiene.
  • The portability kit provides clients with greater independence – and their families greater freedom to travel.
  • Optional molded foam pads for the back and seat provide comfort for clients and easy disinfecting for caregivers.
  • Optional gas-assisted tilt-in-space enables the HTS to tilt 5˚ forward for easier transfer and better toileting position, as well as 25˚ back for showering and hair washing.
  • On. Over. Off. No matter what your toileting situation or special need, the HTS can meet it with its unmatched versatility:

Two Chair Base Options:

Hi/lo base for easy transfers, optimal positioning and instant access to any activity.

Standard base for regular classroom use and ideal for students with autism who need calming through self-generated motion (self-stimming).

Dynamic. Ready to go everywhere.

Gait training has come a long way since we introduced our first model in the 1980s, and our Pacer continues to evolve and improve to meet our customers’ needs.

Why dynamic?

Walking is complex. When we talk about dynamic gait training we refer to the often unobserved but significant shifts of body and weight that occur in typical gait patterns. In the therapy community there is a growing consensus that a well-positioned pelvis in combination with dynamic movement is critical to successful gait training. A specialized gait trainer, like the Pacer, helps achieve this proper positioning and provides the dynamic weight-bearing and weight-shifting needed for a more natural gait pattern and easier stepping.

The Pacer The Pacer, because it can be configured in so many ways, can accommodate clients of every ability, in any environment. Everything about the Pacer encourages progress for clients so nothing stands between them and the places they want to go. It’s the versatility and dependability you’ve come to expect from Rifton.

The Pacer is easily configured to meet your client’s every need. Choose between dynamic and standard upper frames and pair them with standard, utility and treadmill/stability bases.

Ride with your friends!

Most of us have fond memories of childhood bike rides. At Rifton we believe everyone deserves the chance to ride, especially someone with physical disabilities.

And thankfully, even insurers and other funding sources are beginning to recognize that for a person with disabilities, a trike is far more than merely recreational; an adaptive tricycle is often medically necessary for someone who cannot walk independently or who sits for long hours in a wheelchair.
